Travelling to the capital city of Portugal to attend a wedding in Lisbon or other special event is an opportunity to visit one of the oldest cities in the world!
A picturesque city, built in seven hills and bathed by the Tagus River, Lisbon presents its visitors and locals, with beautiful viewpoints, lively and colored old streets & neighborhoods, delicious food – including pastries and traditional drinks to die for! So, this short introduction is to show you what you can experience in just one day walking around Lisbon!

09:30 – Start your tour by walking through the downtown area, also known as Baixa, towards the most historical quarter of the city – Alfama.
Stop to taste some traditional delicacies in small cafés you will pass by, like the Ginjinha do Rossio
10:30 – Go up to visit the Old St. George’s Castle that offers one of the most beautiful views over the city
11:30 – Go down through Alfama narrow streets towards the riverfront and walk towards Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square).
Once you get to the square, we suggest you grab some lunch.
14:00 – Start walking again, but now go to the Chiado quarter, one of the most elegant areas of the city, followed by the Bairro Alto district.
14:45 – Go down again, now heading straight to Cais do Sodré Train Station and get on a train towards Belém.
15:15 – Once at Belém, walk along the river towards the Discoveries Monument square. Take some time to see this monument and the map on the floor.
15:45 – Go on a panoramic boat cruise. From here, you will get to see the most important monuments of the city from the river, including the Tower of Belém and the Jerónimos Monastery.
16:45/17:00 – Boat cruise returns
17:30 – Walk towards the Belém Pastry Shop, to taste the most famous pastries of the country, which recipe has been kept secret for centuries. (And yes, you can take a few of them with you back to the hotel!!)
